Is the canon eos 10d a pious camera?

I'm an amateur photographer who is looking to upgrade to a dslr. would this be a good camera or is it a piece of trash compared to the 20, 30, 40, 50d?
It is a fine old camera. Canon does not build trash cameras, in fact several 35 mm EOS cameras made since 1988 are still perfectly viable cameras.

You can compare each of those cameras using this site: http://www.dpreview.com Source(s): proFotog
DO NOT buy a 10D. It's almost 5 years old which is about 35 yrs behind the times in people years.

Seriously, the fundamental problem with the 10D is that has a crop factor of 1.6x basically like a 20D, 30D, 40D but you can't mount EF-S lenses to it, only EF lenses will fit. This process that the widest inexpensive wide lens you can put on it is 19 mm approximately 70 degrees grazing land of view. (not very wide)

In contrast nearby is only an incremental improvement between the 20D, 30D, 40D
