Why is a sigma 28-300mm cheaper than 18-200mm lens?
I am looking to purchase a telephoto lens for my Canon 400D digital SLR, I believe a lower f number is better but the Sigma 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 DG Macro len is cheaper than the 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 DC OS Lens! Why is this as I thought the larger the mm the more you could zoom in so the better?
Answers: The Sigma 18-200mm has OS (Optical Stabilisation) which method you get less blur and shake free photos ( usually 3 to 4 stops). also the motor is a short time quieter and slightly less Chromatic Abberations. Although Its heavier than the 28-300mm due to housing of the OS system

I dont know, but I enjoy the Sigma 70-300 macro, and got it New for less than lb100 a couple of months ago.
Great lens, and if you want to see some results, message me and I will dispatch you a link to my profile on Redbubble.
Good luck with your choice.
