DSLR CONFUSION!! d40x vs.d60 vs d70?
i have no idea.
my mind is set on d40x coz its cheaper.... thats adjectives really?
HELP!
WHICH IS THE BEST??
Answers: The D40 and D60 require that you use the most up-to-date DX SWM lenses if you want autofocus. The D70s still has the ability to autofocus elder professional lenses that are still in excellent condition and can save you a fortune. I bought a few pro lenses bad ebay and I'm extremely happy with the results I'm getting next to the D70S.

Hmm. i would say that the nikon d40x and the nikon d60 are pretty evenly matched for starters ::P. When it comes to those two, i would achieve the nikon d60, because it's newer and has time to update and become better. I like the nikon d60 more, and it be even on t.v. They may have the same resolution and adjectives of that. But the nikon d40x is just a continuation of the nikon d40, which was a successful camera. Whereby, the nikon d60 is a totally foreign camera. But, when it comes to the nikon d70, i wouldn't kick it in the dirt but. Having all of that said, i wouldn't get the nikon d70 because it seem really old. So, i would get the:
Nikon d60

It honestly depends on what you're going to be photographing.
If you're going to be shooing fast moving things, go near the D60 or D70 (now the D80) D40x is a bit cheaper, but the D60 is a lot faster than the D40x. That's where your extra money have gone: speed.
If you're to not be shooting sports all that often, budge with the D40x. It's a wondeful camera (I mean, hey, it's a NIKON) and spend the money you save a high quality Nikon lens. That's where on earth the REAL image quality and plentifully of camera performance comes from.
the D40 is the best IMO out of all three. the D60 has a newer processor but for overall see the D40 wins hands down.
Better figure quality with a dignified quality 6mp sensor
