Canon Rebel XSi or T1i?
I currently shoot with a Nikon D40 DSLR, and am making the switch to Canon(I have my reason, so no debates on canon vs. nikon please). I would love a Canon 40D but that is soooo not surrounded by my price range, I'm gunna sell my D40 and use that money plus some extra to buy JUST the body, because currently I do not obligation a 18-55mm lens, I'm going to buy a 50mm f/1.8(what I use on my D40 as well).
I just want to know if the T1i is worth the extra hundred or so dollars more than the XSi, because if there isn't a big difference I would basically get the XSi, but if there is I would somehow organize to fork out a little extra for the T1i. I'll hopefully get the 40D or something surrounded by the future, but for now, because of my money, I'll opt for a nonconformist as my first Canon DSLR, plus I am still a beginner as I have individual been shooting with a DSLR for a short time over a year, and I'm just 15.
Oh and I don't have the money for the T2i so don't mention that, lately keep it on the XSi and the T1i.
Answers: If you want Digital SLR camera that can nick HD video Canon T1i is your choice but if video is not a factor I would recommend get Canon Rebel XSi which not much difference in standard, picture quality. Save your extra money for another good lens.

In terms of image feature, don't expect to see any improvement with the extra megapixels the T1i have. At high ISO settings, I reckon both cameras should perform hugely similarilty, if not identical to respectively other.
Only get the T1i if liveview and video recording is meaningful to you.
If not, get the XSi and pocket the remaining towards lenses or accessories.
I would either the the in recent times newly announced Canon Rebel T2i (550D) (see 1st link below) or the Nikon D5000 (see 2nd knit below). I have no reviews to share for the Canon Rebel T2i (550D) yet since it newly came out but the 3rd link below is to B&H Photo's page for customer reviews for the Nikon D5000.
Canon Rebel XSi is an excellent camera but have a max high ISO of 1600 and these other cameras offer sophisticated ISO range that could help within low light. If the video is a serious feature to you consequently the fact that the new Canon Rebel T2i (550D) have ability connect an external microphone should be of interest to you.
Hope this helps.

If you necessitate a camera with a HD video capability than travel for Canon T1i otherwise feature wise I dont surmise there is much difference So would rather turn with Canon XSi

Hey,
Those lab results from DxO are really stupid..at least for thes two cameras (XTI vs XSi). I have the XSi for months and I know it's better than the XTi, not by much but it is!
The 40D is out of your price range? The T1i costs about 700$, but a used 40D costs going on for 600$. If I were you, I'd get the 40D..and possibly get the 50mm f/1.8 for 120$ that you saved. In my country (EUR), I can bring back the 40D body for 650$. It's much better than the T1i, the T1i has one of the worst sensors I've seen, when using it for low desk light.
Take a look at this article, it's about 'Buying a DSLR, what's important, what's not, pixels, features and at hand are also Amazon links. Look at it here - http://the-digital-photographer.blogspot…
Good luck!

I would pick the XTi over the XSi, hand down
Your choice of the 40D over the 50D is a good one, or wait for the subsequent camera (in about 18 months) that replaces the 50D. By then you may own saved enough pennies to buy it. Source(s): digiPro
